Why is exfoliation sooo important?
When a cell is formed in the basal skin layer.....it is perfectly plump and round, full of moisture - like a grape!
As it travels to the top of the skin (or the Epidermal layer) it becomes flattened and dead - dry without collagen, elastin or moisture...so it begins to look like a raisin....then ultimately a corn flake. As a child, this journey from grape to corn flake takes about 30 days. As we get older, this "process" significantly slows down, ultimately to 60 or 90 days. This is why skin can look dull/dry. This is why exfoliation is so important!

Speaks for itself ...
Before REVERSE After 7 months
The best part is that I love to tell my story. No one believes how bad my skin used to look until I show them my pictures. I began using the products shortly before my daughter’s first birthday. I was a lifeguard for 15 years and I also lived at the beach. I knew sun damage was inevitable. I just didn’t think it would make a grand appearance as it did after I was pregnant. I looked like a giraffe—literally! I began using the REVERSE Regimen at the suggestion of my hair stylist and Consultant, Sandy Mac.
I am so impressed with my results and so is everyone that sees them. These products are amazing and have changed my life and certainly changed the way that I feel about skincare and preventing further sun damage.

Here Comes the Sun
Which regimen should you use?
REVERSE will help you achieve radiant, healthy-looking skin during any season but for maximum benefit, you also need to make some lifestyle changes. This includes avoiding prolonged sun exposure, wearing a broad-brimmed hat, donning dark sun glasses and re-applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen every two to three hours when exposed to the sun.
If your summer schedule makes the above lifestyle changes impossible (lifeguard duties, etc.), it may be more reasonable to use our ANTI-AGE Regimen during the summer and be extra diligent with sunscreen. You can always begin REVERSE Regimen in the fall when your schedule is more conducive to avoiding prolonged sun exposure.

Confessions of a Dermatologist
Dr. Fields and I will be the first to tell you to run from the sun. That natural, sun-kissed glow may be pretty but it is hardly worth the risks of skin cancer, brown spots and accelerated aging. Just because I slather myself in sunscreen, hide under a huge hat and sport sunglasses so large they cover half my face doesn't mean I've abandoned my Southern California beach babe roots in favor of a pasty white, librarian-like complexion. I want it all-especially when it comes to my skin. So here's how I have learned to fake it:
First: Prep your skin by exfoliating: Before applying a self-tanning lotion, I scrub away dead, dry, scaly skin on my legs, chest and arms with a gentle micro-dermabrasion stick. And for a two-for-one benefit, I leave the micro-dermabrasion product on my legs for an even closer shave and enhanced exfoliation in one fell swoop. Smooth, freshly shaved and exfoliated skin ensures a uniform application of the self-tanning product.
Second: Moisturize the driest areas over your joints: Apply a thick coat of your favorite body lotion over the elbows, ankles and knees to prevent a concentrated uptake of the self tanner in areas where the skin is thickest.
Third: Apply a gradual self-tanning moisturizer for a more natural, and streak-free glow. My favorites are made by Jergens and Dove which are lightweight, full of good moisturizers and don't smell like your average
self-tanner.
